Syllabear, the Lone Druid, is a highly unique Agility-based carry in DotA 1 who relies on a distinct dual-unit mechanic. Driven by his balanced Agility and Strength growth, his primary power comes from his ability to summon an exceptionally durable Spirit Bear companion that can independently hold items and fight. This cooperative playstyle allows him to operate as an elite split-pusher and high-durability carry, soaking up massive amounts of damage while his companion locks down and demolishes enemy formations.

3. Hero Skills Breakdown
1. Summon Spirit Bear
Summons a powerful Spirit Bear companion that can equip items and gains performance scaling alongside Lone Druid. If the bear moves too far away from the caster, it loses its ability to attack. Should the companion fall in combat, the link inflicts severe backlash damage directly to Lone Druid's pool. The Spirit Bear does not benefit from raw stats but possesses native capabilities to recall to the druid's side, inflict increased structural damage, and bind enemies in place.
- Companion Growth: Receives +5 attack damage and +75 HP per level.
- Attack Range Tether: Cannot attack if it moves greater than 1100 distance away from Lone Druid.
- Death Penalty: Lone Druid suffers 10% of his maximum health as backlash damage if the Spirit Bear dies.
- Mechanical Restriction: Spirit Bear does not benefit from attributes.
- Unique Companion Abilities: Return, Demolish, and Entangling Roots.

4. Item Build Guide
| Phase |
Recommended Items |
Strategic Purpose |
| Early Game |
2x Boots of Speed, Orb of Venom, Stout Shield |
One pair of Boots and the Stout Shield secure the Spirit Bear's lane survivability and chasing. The second pair of Boots stays on the Druid, while Orb of Venom applies a constant slow. |
| Core Items |
Radiance (on Bear), Power Treads (on Druid), Hyperstone (on Bear) |
Radiance on the Spirit Bear allows it to burn down waves and melt teams while split-pushing. Hyperstone accelerates the bear's attack speed to hunt for Entangling Roots procs. |
| Late Game |
Assault Cuirass (on Bear), Abyssal Blade (on Bear), Heart of Tarrasque (on Druid) |
Assault Cuirass adds attack speed and reduces building armor, stacking with Demolish. Abyssal Blade adds baseline lockdown, and Heart keeps the primary hero unkillable. |
5. Quick Gameplay Tips
- Dodging Projectiles via Transformation: Lone Druid's True Form features a 1.9-second transformation window. During this phase, you can dodge incoming targeted stuns or projectile spells if timed perfectly, neutralizing lethal enemy setups while under pressure.
- The Radiance Separation Push: Because the Spirit Bear does not die when it leaves its attack tether range, you can equip it with Radiance and safely command it to run down an enemy lane or into the enemy jungle. The immolation aura will clear entire creep waves and generate safe income without ever putting Lone Druid's physical body in harm's way.
- Defensive Disruption with Savage Roar: When an enemy hero initiates on Lone Druid with a channeling spell or heavy damage setup, you can trigger Savage Roar from the Spirit Bear even if the main hero is disabled. This immediately forces the attacker to break their channel and walk away, effectively peeling for yourself.
