Hero Skills Breakdown

1. Wild Axes

Wild Axes

Rexxar hurls his two axes outward, which then intersect and return to him. Each axe can only damage a unit once. Before the damage axe shutters enemy's armor, causing it to receive extra damage from any source owned by the Beastmaster. This debuff stacks per each axe and can be refreshed by another axe hit.

  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Targeting: Point / Line
  • Debuff Duration: 12 seconds
  • Aghanim's Scepter Upgrade: Removes the cooldown completely, allowing Rexxar to recast the axes as soon as they return to his hands.
Level Damage (per Axe) Damage Amplification (per Stack) Cooldown Manacost
1 40 6% 8 sec 65
2 70 8% 8 sec 65

Call of the Wild

  • Summon Types: Scout Hawk & Quilbeast
  • Hawk Special Mechanics: Greater and Legendary variants gain permanent Invisibility when stationary.
  • Quilbeast Attack Type: Ranged ground warrior with poison-infused ammunition.

Primal Roar

Beastmaster lets loose a deafening roar that stuns the target, and shoves open a path to it. All units in the path of the roar, including the target, receive magical damage. Units shoved aside by the roar have their movement and attack speed reduced. Slow duration is equal to the stun duration. Additionally, Beastmaster and his units nearby gain movement speed.

Item Build Guide

Phase Recommended Items Strategic Purpose
Early Game Bottle, Boots of Speed, Magic Wand Resolves early mana issues from spamming Wild Axes, ensures baseline mobility, and provides burst survivability during early rotations.
Core Items Necronomicon, Blink Dagger, Power Treads Necronomicon summons scale massively with Inner Beast. Blink Dagger guarantees optimal positioning to initiate pick-offs instantly with Primal Roar.
Late Game Aghanim's Scepter, Assault Cuirass, Scythe of Vyse Scepter removes Wild Axes' cooldown for endless wave clear and damage stacking. Assault Cuirass amplifies attack speed and physical bulk, while Scythe chains crowd control.

Quick Gameplay Tips

  • Vision Dominance: Always treat your Hawk as a moving Ward. Park your high-level Hawk invisibly over high-ground choke points or Rosh pits to completely shut down enemy smoke plays and counter-ganks.
  • Perfect Initiation: Utilize your Blink Dagger to reposition safely behind or to the flank of an enemy line. Cast Primal Roar on key targets to knock supporting units aside, slicing open a direct path for your physical damage team or your Necronomicon summons to swarm.
  • Amplified Burst Stacking: When chasing or locking down a target, cast Wild Axes immediately before and during your physical focus. Since the armor-shuttering debuff stacks per axe and lasts 12 seconds, Rexxar and his summoned units deal exponentially higher physical output to targets caught in the crossfire.
