2. Whirling Axes
Troll exercises ultimate mastery of the axe, projecting skills tailored to his current form of combat. In melee form, he summons magic axes to rotate around him in a circle, dealing damage and causing nearby targets to miss their attacks. In ranged form, he hurls a rapid cone of axes forward, slowing and damaging all targets caught in their path.

4. Battle Trance
Troll enters a powerful battle trance, temporarily locking his focus to continuously attack the closest enemy unit within his vicinity, prioritizing enemy heroes. While in this trance state, incoming lethal damage cannot kill him. He also enjoys massive bonuses to lifesteal, attack speed, and movement speed, alongside an instant self-purge.

Quick Gameplay Tips
- The Dual-Axe Form Swap: Take advantage of the fact that Whirling Axes (Ranged) and Whirling Axes (Melee) do not share a cooldown. When chasing or starting a fight, throw the ranged axes first to slow the target from a distance, swap forms to Melee with Berserker Rage, run in, and cast the melee axes to blind them and keep them rooted.
- Unkillable Battle Trance Timing: Battle Trance makes you completely immune to death, but you lose manual control of your hero's movement. Wait for key enemy disable spells (like stuns or hexes) to be expended before activating it, or pair it with your Black King Bar to ensure you are constantly hitting targets and lifestealing back to full health.
- Aghanim's Self-Dispel & Enemy Purge: With an Aghanim's Scepter, your melee axes act as a self-cleanse, letting you remove pesky slows and roots. Conversely, throwing your ranged axes at enemies will strip them of beneficial buffs (such as Omniknight's Guardian Angel or positive runes), turning the tide of the skirmish instantly.
