A coil of death that can damage an enemy unit or heal a friendly unit at the cost of his own life. Deals magical damage to enemies. Self-damage type is pure, but it cannot kill the caster. Self-damage is 50% of the heal/damage value. Can target Spell Immune allies but not Spell Immune enemies.
- Cast Range: Fixed at 575 across all levels.
- Targeting Rules: Can target Spell Immune allies (for healing), but cannot target Spell Immune enemies (for damage).
- Self-Damage Type: Pure. The self-damage value is always exactly 50% of the flat heal/damage amount.
- Survival Mechanic: The self-inflicted pure damage cannot drop Abaddon's health pool below 1 HP, meaning it cannot be used to commit suicide.

2. Aphotic Shield
Summons dark energies around an allied unit, creating a shield that absorbs a set amount of damage before expiring. When the shield is destroyed or it's duration is over it will deal magical damage equal to the maximum damage amount it can absorb to an area around the target. Cannot damage invisible or fogged enemies. Applies strong dispel on the target.
- Total Duration: 15 seconds.
- Dispel Condition: Applies a strong dispel on the targeted allied unit immediately upon cast.
- Burst Damage Conditions: Deals magical damage in an area equal to the maximum absorption capacity when fully broken or upon natural expiration. Cannot strike invisible or fog-of-war hidden enemies.

3. Frostmourne
The legendary Frostmourne brands enemies it strikes in it's chilling embrace, slowing their movement speed for 5 seconds. If the target gets hit 4 times, it become affected by a chilling curse causing it to be silenced and slowed for 4.5 seconds, and all attacks against it gain bonus attack speed. The counter doesn't increase while the target is already silenced by Frostmourne.
- Attack Slow Duration: 5 seconds on initial hits.
- Curse Duration: 4.5 seconds (applies silence, an amplified slow, and team attack speed buff).
- Trigger Condition: Requires landing 4 successful basic attacks on the same target. The hit counter is temporarily locked and will not increment while the target is currently undergoing Frostmourne's silence.

4. Borrowed Time
When activated, most negative buffs will be removed and any damage you take will heal you instead of damage you. If the ability is not on cooldown, it will passively activate if you receive damage while your hitpoints are below 400. Can be activated while stunned, but not while silenced. Auto-activation works under any debuff except for Break. Does not prevent Axe's Culling Blade or Ice Blast from killing the target when below threshold.
- Dispel Conditions: Instantly removes most negative debuffs from Abaddon upon activation.
- Auto-Trigger Threshold: Passively engages when Abaddon's health drops below 400 HP, provided the skill is off cooldown.
- Counter-Mechanics: Passive activation is entirely disabled under the Break status effect. Furthermore, the skill cannot override or heal through instantaneous kill thresolds caused by Axe's Culling Blade or Ancient Apparition's Ice Blast.
- Aghanim's Scepter Upgrade: Extends the active duration across all levels. Additionally, it unlocks an automatic mechanic that automatically casts a free Death Coil at nearby allies every time Abaddon absorbs 525 damage.

| Late Game |
Aghanim's Scepter, Heart of Tarrasque, Assault Cuirass |
Aghanim's Scepter makes your ultimate last longer and turns you into a passive healing conduit. Heart of Tarrasque grants an unkillable health pool, and Assault Cuirass provides critical armor along with attack speed to proc Frostmourne faster. |
Quick Gameplay Tips
- The Strong Dispel Rescue: Use Aphotic Shield defensively to save your hard carries or key initiators. Because it applies a strong dispel, it can instantly purge major status effects like a 5-second Arrow stun or long-duration bashes. Do not just use it for the damage barrier; hold it for the exact millisecond your ally gets hit by heavy crowd control.
- Manual Ultimate Management: Avoid relying solely on the passive auto-activation of Borrowed Time. High-level opponents will deliberately draft burst mechanics to jump you from 450 HP to 0 HP instantly, or silence you so you cannot react. Manually activate your ultimate early during heavy teamfight setups to guarantee you absorb the initial wave of high-impact enemy spells.
- Aggressive Death Coil Spamting: Because Death Coil operates on a tiny 5-second cooldown and a minimal mana cost, use it aggressively while Borrowed Time is active. During this window, the 50% pure self-damage cost of the coil is inverted by your ultimate, meaning you will actually heal yourself while sending out heals to your teammates or nukes to your enemies.
