Game Setup & System Compatibility
Technical Guardrails
- Required Engine Patch: This custom map runs strictly on Warcraft III Patch 1.26a.
- Incompatible Clients: Older game versions like 1.24, or newer installations past patch 1.27, will not launch this map properly.
- No AI Framework: LoD maps do not include code infrastructure for AI bots. The map is built strictly for human multiplayer lobbies.
Installation Route
Once downloaded, transfer the file into your local installation. Place the DotA_LoD_7.00k.w3x file inside the game's designated folder:

Unlocking the Map for Offline LAN Matches
Due to its rich features and asset size, the file exceeds the original engine thresholds. If you want to play a local LAN game with friends, apply this quick bypass:
- Right-click your Warcraft III desktop shortcut and select "Run as Administrator".
- Head to Single Player » Custom Game and launch a match using this specific LoD map.
- Upon entering the game, check the chat log for the notification: "Map size limit has been disabled, LAN games are now available."
- Exit back to the main menu. You can now establish and fill local game rooms in the Local Area Network tab.
