Razzil Darkbrew, the Alchemist: Guía de habilidades y objetos — DotA 1

Razzil Darkbrew, the Alchemist, is a premier Strength-based carry and flash-farmer in DotA 1, uniquely defined by his ability to accelerate his net worth far ahead of any other hero. Combining balanced baseline attributes with unparalleled financial manipulation, Alchemist can easily shrug off a difficult laning phase. By melting enemy armor, preparing volatile explosive mixtures, and chemically mutating his ogre mount into a rapid-attacking engine of massive health regeneration, he quickly scales into an unstoppable frontline juggernaut.

Hero Skills Breakdown

1. Acid Spray

Sprays high-pressure acid across a target area. Hostile units who step across the contaminated terrain take smashing damage per second and have their armor reduced.

  • Damage Type: Smashing (Physical)
  • Duration: 16 seconds
  • Mechanic: Provides area-of-effect vision over the contaminated terrain and applies a persistent armor-reduction debuff to all enemy units within the pool.
Level Damage Per Second Armor Reduction Area of Effect (AoE) Cooldown Manacost
1 20 4 475 22 sec 130
2 25 5 525 22 sec 140
3 30 6 575 22 sec 150
4 35 7 625 22 sec 160

2. Unstable Concoction

Alchemist brews up an unstable concoction that he can throw at an enemy hero, to stun and deal smashing damage in an area around the explosion. The longer the concoction brews, the more damage it deals and the longer the stun. However, after a set duration, the concoction will explode on Alchemist himself if not thrown.

  • Damage Type: Smashing (Physical)
  • Maximum Brew Time: 5 seconds to achieve maximum damage and stun values.
  • Self-Detonation Threshold: 5.5 seconds (explodes on Alchemist, dealing damage and stunning him instead if not launched).
Level Maximum Damage Maximum Stun Duration Cooldown Manacost
1 160 1.75 sec 14 sec 90
2 240 2.50 sec 14 sec 100
3 320 3.25 sec 14 sec 110
4 400 4.00 sec 14 sec 120

3. Goblin's Greed

The Goblin converts the creep's corpse into gold. You get a baseline gold value plus bonus gold for every extra creep you killed recently. Gives successive bonus gold. The bonus cap is increased with level. Passively increases gold gained from Bounty runes.

  • Base Gold Per Kill: 3
  • Stack Progression: +3 gold added per successive kill within the time window.
  • Stack Duration Window: 36 seconds
  • Mechanic Restrictions: Explicitly added to the normal bounty overhead of the killed unit. Does not work on illusions.
Level Successive Bonus Cap Bounty Rune Multiplier Cooldown Manacost
1 6 gold 2.0x Passive 0
2 9 gold 2.5x Passive 0
3 12 gold 3.0x Passive 0
4 15 gold 3.5x Passive 0

4. Chemical Rage

The Alchemist causes his Ogre to enter a chemically induced rage reducing base attack cooldown, increasing movement speed, and increasing regeneration. Disjoints projectiles and applies a basic dispel on cast.

  • Duration: 25 seconds
  • Dispel Conditions: Applies a basic dispel upon activation, stripping away minor debuffs and slows.
  • Projectile Disjoint: Instantly breaks the tracking of incoming attack and spell projectiles upon activation.
  • Scepter Upgrade: Reduces cooldown by 20 seconds.
Level Base Attack Time (BAT) HP Regeneration Move Speed (MS) Bonus Cooldown Manacost
1 1.2 50/s +40 55 sec 50
2 1.1 75/s +50 55 sec 100
3 1.0 100/s +60 55 sec 150

Item Build Guide

Phase Recommended Items Strategic Purpose
Early Game Quelling Blade, Soul Ring, Phase Boots Quelling Blade guarantees early last-hits to kickstart Goblin's Greed. Soul Ring provides the mandatory mana engine required to continuously drop Acid Spray in lane or neutral camps, while Phase Boots make up for early movement limitations.
Core Items Radiance, Black King Bar (BKB), Manta Style Radiance is the premier flash-farming tool, burning down entire neutral camps simultaneously to maximize Goblin's Greed stacks. Black King Bar prevents him from being permanently locked down, while Manta Style offers a self-dispel and fast split-pushing potential.
Late Game Assault Cuirass, Abyssal Blade, Moon Shard Assault Cuirass stacks perfectly with Acid Spray's armor reduction while compensating for Alchemist's poor natural Agility growth. Abyssal Blade grants targeted lock-down, and Moon Shard exploits his low 1.0 Base Attack Time to maximize bash potential.

Quick Gameplay Tips

  • The Physical Melt Combination: Both Acid Spray and Unstable Concoction deal Smashing (Physical) damage rather than Magical. Because Acid Spray strips away up to 7 armor at maximum rank, you should always target your concoction projectile onto an enemy standing directly inside the active acid pool. This allows the explosive burst to inflict near-pure damage against melted targets.
  • The Art of the 5-Second Brew: To minimize reaction time for your enemies, charge Unstable Concoction while positioned safely out of enemy vision (such as inside the fog of war or high-ground treelines). Begin rushing toward your target when the countdown timer hits 3 seconds, letting you launch the projectile right as it reaches its maximum 4-second stun potential without giving opponents time to run or react.
  • Chemical Projectile Disjointing: The transformation animation of Chemical Rage features a split-second window that completely disjoints incoming single-target spells and physical attacks. If an enemy projectile (such as a homing stun or a lethal ranged strike) is flying directly toward you, time the activation of your ultimate perfectly to cause the incoming threat to completely miss.
